Recipe: How to make Goma ae, Spinach seasoned with sesame

Goma ae(胡麻和え)means "seasoned with sesame". The most typical goma ae dish is with spinach which makes it a healthy vegan dish that balances out nutrients to your diet. Learn the sesame sauce you would use for the dish, and it becomes a healthy dressing for any salad! We introduced an easy recipe to cook Spinach Goma ae.












How to make Goma ae, Spinach seasoned with sesame

Ingredients

  • spinach…1 
  • grounded sesame…2 spoons
  • sugar…1 spoon
  • soy sauce…1 teaspoon
  • miso…1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1.  boil/steam the spinach and cool it with ice water. 
  2. Squeeze off the water, and cut in a width of 3cm.
  3. Mix all the seasonings, and mix with 1.
  4. Serve in a small bowl. 

Key Points

  • Using grounded sesame, you can make gomaae very easily.
  • adding miso adds depth to this dish!
  • Make sure to remove water from the spinach. Keep the spinach and seasonings separate, and mix it with the seasonings right before eating.
