Recipe: Vegetable stick with sweet miso sauce

Japanese sauces can make your dish better tasting and healthy at the same time. Today we came up with a very simple sauce using miso and mayonnaise to have with your vegetables!

How to make Vegetable stick with sweet miso sauce

Ingredients

  • vegetables you like. (carrots, cucumbers, celery, daikon)

  • mayonaise...1 spoon

  • miso paste...1 tablespoon

  • sugar...2 tablepoon

  • soy sauce...few drops

Instructions

    1. Cut the vegetables to a stick shape.
    2. Mix mayonnaise, miso paste, sugar, and soy sauce together.
    3. Serve on a plate.

    Key Points

    • Miso sauce match vegetables really well, so pick some seasonal vegetables! It usually tastes good, and is cheaper than when it's not in season!
    • It will be better if you could mix olive/grapeseed oil with vinegar and raw egg(egg=if it's safe in your country from Salmonella) to make alioli instead of the mayo, and mix with the rest of the ingredients for the sauce.
    • you may add anchovies or minced garlic for a punch of flavor, too!
    • It's a very easy way to add another menu for parties. The sauce can be used for other dishes like chips, meat, you name it.

Just master just a few basic condiment mixes

Japanese food is actually very simple to master as the basic condiments just have a few patterns. Once you know how to make Japanese sauce or flavors from scratch, you can simply make any dish "Japanese." Even Japanese are starting to be fascinated with fusion like putting olive oil to soy sauce to have with sashimi or sushi! So, enjoy discovering your favorite taste.
